Ultimately, my work is to deliver personal and professional growth, so you perform at a higher level, to achieve greater happiness and fulfilment.
Just as I coach every client through change and improve their performance to succeed – the tools here are for you to achieve Clarity, Direction, Empowerment, and Freedom.
The Power of Coaching
I have found coaching to be a powerful tool that enables truth and clarity to cut through fear and the inability to make difficult decisions. Coaching is not therapy. Coaching focuses on where you are now, and the challenges you face to meet the goals you want to achieve.
As a certified and experienced coach, I ask the right questions at the right time in order to expand perspectives. My coaching delivers insightful tips and allows each client to open up to possibilities with renewed excitement and empowerment.
Coaching also gives people the unique opportunity to speak candidly in a non-judgemental space. My work as a coach is not to give you kind, friendly advice – instead, I support you through your thought process to arrive at what’s going to work best for you. We channel your resourcefulness and creativity to arrive at your solution; thereby engaging your accountability to succeed in the things you want, to live your best life.
1) Let’s start by establishing Clarity.
- What do you believe to be your biggest challenges?
- Name two things you want to improve?
- How do you identify goals and priorities?
Take a few minutes to rate your satisfaction with these things in your life. Work with the truth – there is no other way for growth and improvement.
What stood out that requires your attention immediately? What must you focus on, instead of neglecting it and hoping that it fixes itself?
2) What is the Direction you are currently headed?
- What do you see for yourself – what’s the end goal?
- What challenges lay ahead?
- Describe your level of commitment?
- What is your instinct telling you right now?
As you work through this…use the power of visualisation to truly ‘see’ the landscape in front of you – remove your blinders and do this exercise until your instinct and that sensation in your gut tells you it’s right!
What are the gaps for you when you think of achieving your goals and aspirations?
What would Empower you the most right now, to achieve your full potential, to lead the life you want?
Imagine there are absolutely no hurdles in between you and your ultimate achievements – what does that look like? Where are you and what are you doing?
Let’s talk about your Toolbox.
In addition to your natural talent, interests, passion, and what you’ve learned from experience – what tools do you regularly use to get the job done?
In this circumstance, I refer to anything that you use for a particular purpose, including a method, a personality attribute or trait, a piece of technology, anything that you readily reach for to get to your goal.
Can you name the tools in your box today? Which tools have served you best the past year?
How will you continue to top-up your toolbox to keep it relevant to your needs?
This is exactly where clarity, awareness, and strategic tools come in handy.
Your determination to achieve the best laid out plans is not enough on its own.
Success does not come from hard work alone.
The insightful learning about yourself and old behaviours…seeing clearly your sabotaging habits, will give you the freedom to choose without ego, all the tools you need to reduce frustration.
Align your aspirations and potential to SMART goals
Start with answering these five questions to help you develop your SMART goals:
1. What does your full potential look like – what are you doing when you are living your best life?
You may have a number of accomplishments or sheer talent that you are recognized for – how do you use these to your advantage? What do you want to be most proud of? Define success on your terms and develop your goals around that.
2. What are you good at?
It is important to be honest with yourself and look at your historical and current situation face on. What have others said to you, complimented you on? Do you have an inherent passion for something that drives you effortlessly?
3. What is the legacy or impact you want to make?
Think about achieving your best life – greater happiness, fulfilment – what impact will you make along the way? What is your measurement for success? Write them all down together with key milestones you will hit along the way?
4. What helps you to perform at your best?
It is impossible to be everything to everyone all the time. Your performance will lag with nourishment for your mind and body, as well as your perseverance and motivation to keep on track. What does it take to keep you performing at your peak?
5. How do you take ego out of your decisions?
Don’t be afraid to admit that your ego is a big influencer – it’s the first step to consciously removing it from cornering you into decisions you cannot deliver. Be consistent and true to yourself when you consider options, and open yourself to perspectives beyond your comfort zone – access the “what-ifs”.
